call for new ways to work
Local employers invited to apply for prestigious
Sloan Award recognizing excellence in workplace flexibility to enhance business and employee success
The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with When Work Works, a national initiative to highlight the importance of workplace effectiveness, is inviting local employers to apply today for the Annual Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. Businesses throughout Rhode Island that make flexibility a priority in their workplace -- i.e. providing flexible schedules, job sharing, and telecommuting among other policies -- are encouraged to apply for the national award online at
www.whenworkworks.org
The award is open to any company with 10 or more employees.
Recognition will be given at a Chamber Busienss Over Easy Breakfast event in the fall to small, medium and large companies in the public and private sectors that successfully use workplace flexibility to meet both business and employee goals. Last year the Chamber recognized Embolden Design (also a 2006 winner); Family Services of Rhode Island; KPMG LLP; Lefkowitz, Garfinkel, Champi & DeRienzo P.C. (also a 2006 winner); Lighthouse Computer Services, Inc.; Rhode Island Housing (2005 and 2006 winner); and Rhode Island Legal Services with the Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility.
