David Meerman Scott Announced as Speaker at Business EXPO 2008

Award winning online strategist and best selling author David Meerman Scott will share his best practices for Internet marketing and public relations when he takes the stage on Tuesday, May 6 as part of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce’s Business EXPO 2008. He is one of five nationally known business-focused keynote speakers expected to take the stage during the event taking place Tuesday May 6 and Wednesday, May 7 at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

In his presentation, Scott will draw on innovative, cost-effective online tactics and strategies he has used to sell over a billion dollar in products. He will teach attendees how to apply today’s new rules of marketing and public relations including: creating great online content; developing online news releases; engaging in profitable blogging and podcasts; and multiplying search engine hits.

“The Internet has dramatically changed the rules of marketing and the way businesses reach their customer base,” said Laurie White, president of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce. “David is a foremost expert of what’s working in the world of online marketing and we are pleased to offer EXPO attendees and exhibitors the opportunity to draw on that knowledge to more effectively showcase their products and services.”

The published author of the number one best selling PR and marketing book “The New Rules of Marketing and PR: How to use news releases, blogs, viral marketing and online media to reach buyers directly,” which is being published in 12 languages, Scott has also developed the “New Rules of Marketing” course for Pragmatic Marketing, Inc. based on his book.
